This is the person who supervises the lifting operation, they work on behalf of the AP and deliver the project following the safe system provided by the AP.

Summary

Classroom and Practical training course covering:

  • Legislation ‐ LOLER, PUWER, HASAWA
  • Roles and responsibilities of personnel involved with lifting operations
  • Documentation and certification for lifting equipment and lifting accessories
  • Lifting accessories
  • Types of accessories and use
  • Slinging techniques
  • Down rating of accessories
  • Sling angles
  • Communications
  • Establishing load weight and centre of gravity
  • Proximity hazards
  • Selecting lifting accessories
  • Verifying documentation and certification
  • Attaching accessories to different loads

You will require a CITB Specialist Superviser H,S&E test passed within the last 2 year is required for this course.

Duration 3 or 4 days (2 days training, 1 or 2 day testing)

PPE required = Hard hat, safety footwear, Hi-visibility vest / jacket, Gloves.

Start time: 08:30 till 16:30 (can run over and start earlier)

Outcomes

This comprehensive course will prepare you to undertake the duties of a crane supervisor, as defined by the appointed person.

You will learn to comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, Codes of Practice, and industry requirements. Upon successfully passing the CPCS technical tests at the end of the training, you will earn the CPCS trained operator card (red card). This course is provided by Cornerbrook Lifting.
